We are really excited to announce our new partnership between CDR and dBs Music Berlin in 2017.
We are all about things that are out of the ordinary. So, naturally, we would want to partner with CDR (Create, Define, Release) because theirs is a club night with a difference.
The music played is provided by the audience. This community of producers and artists work on new material and look to share their progress with like-minded people and reach industry professionals. Here in Berlin, CDR events are well established at Prince Charles, but their previous spiritual (and literal) home was once Plastic People in London.
In 2016 these club nights provided a valuable way for our students to test out in-progress material in a club environment. Plus they got to hear their mateiral on a really well set up Funktion-One system! They also had the chance to connect with other producers outside of the school environment and access visibility from the CDR platform. This visibility came in the forms of club nights, the radio show on Berlin Community Radio or as special features on the CDR website.
We at dBs Music Berlin are especially proud of the success that’s been achieved by our community members Vida Vojic, Lakme, and Shatterhands. Shatterhands was the winner of a CDR competition last year and scored the opportunity to perform at Dimension festival! Read about that here.
Our collaboration with CDR in 2017 will allow us to broaden opportunities for our students and guarantee them chances to perform, be featured and to network. It’s also just a great way for them to engage with the wider Berlin music community.
It goes without saying that both dBs Berlin and CDR are organisations which share a passion for fostering and supporting growing talent, and for creating a network of creative individuals. We are excited about it! Can you tell?
The first event is on 26th January, at Prince Charles and features artist talks from Pellegrino and Nu Guinea. Further details including the dBs Student performer will be announced soon! Check it out on Facebook.
