Change is coming. The grey cloak of winter soon lifted, there’s no better time than spring for skills to grow and goals to flourish. This spring, our specialist music and film workshops will give you the opportunity to learn intensively from the experts. Two to five days long, each workshop focuses on a different discipline: for film, pocket filmmaking or green screen, and for music, mixing or mastering. What’s more, in our vibrant and atmospheric Funkhaus location, you’ll be at the heart of Berlin’s thriving international creative community.
Bring your passion and our roster of industry professionals will bring their invaluable know-how. The deadline for applications is the 1st of April. Advance payment is required. You need to be aged 18 or over to apply and, depending on the course, you may need skills to at least an intermediate level.

Pocket Filmmaking Tools Workshop – 2 Days
Friday 12th – Saturday 13th April
So I don’t need to know how to use a professional camera to make a film? If movies such as thriller ‘Unsane,’ shot on an iPhone 7 Plus, are anything to go by, the answer is absolutely not! Some of the most exciting directors and content creators are shooting entire films with their phones, and so can you.
This two-day workshop with filmmaker, storyteller and creative Alex Forge will give you the know-how to create slick and professional phone videos that stand out from the online noise. No fancy equipment and no experience or qualifications required – just passion. We’ll guide you through the whole process – from engaging storytelling and settings optimisation to camera techniques and post-production – all the while training your filmmaking eye.
Green Screen Workshop – 5 Days
Monday 6th – Friday 10th May
No experience required – just imagination! Our hands-on five-day green screen workshop will give you all the technical know-how you need to bring your characters and creative concepts into seamless alternate realities. You’ll work with an expert visual effects supervisor, trained actors and experienced cinematographers Oliver Valente and Matthieu Schmidt to make the impossible possible.
Learn quickly about light and camera settings. Understand the constraints and gain the freedom to create and compose virtual images with real-life material. Shoot animation, miniatures and special effects. Avoid post-production nightmares. This short course is perfect for film directors, DOPs, film production enthusiasts or image creators.
Specialist Mixing Workshop – 2 Days
Friday 5th – Saturday 6th April
How do you make a bassline and kick drum work together? How do you blend synthesizers so they don’t fight each other, and how do you bring clarity and punch to drums and the overall mix? If you’ve asked any of these questions as an amateur mixing engineer, our hands-on two-day workshop is for you. Learning from the experts, you’ll push your mixdown knowledge to the next level alongside professional engineers and producers.
Our studio master is Christopher Jarman, who you may also know as Kamikaze Space Programme, Dot Product or Raiden. Not only is he a regular DJ at Berghain, Tresor and some of the world’s best clubs, but he packs a solid 20 years of industry experience with over 150 vinyl releases for different music genres and labels.
